Specialist Language College Status

We are delighted to announce that our school was designated a Specialist Language College in September 2006.  We are confident that Specialist School Status will enhance the opportunities for students, staff, parents and the wider community.  Our thanks go to everyone who was involved in the bid, including our major sponsors HSBC, Bowland Trust and Clitheroe the Future.  Our student language committees helped not only to raise money, but also to shape the bid and guarantee its success.  Thanks to parent sponsors and the generosity of former students, friends of the school and the wider community.

Shown here is the preliminary visit of the Headteacher of our new partner school in Shanghai, China.  Our first exchange to Shanghai took place at Easter 2007. Our second exchange to Shanghai took place at Easter 2008.
