Founded in 1554, Clitheroe Royal Grammar School has undergone many changes and developments over the four hundred plus years of the education of young people. This continues to be the case as, to compliment the outstanding teaching and learning at the school, the buildings and facilities have developed to enhance the learning environments. The most recent additions include a brand new building on the Sixth Form site to house the Geography and English departments as well as a new conference room in which to hold meetings for staff and students. The Sixth Form at York Street are also reaping the benefits of extensions to the dining room, a new courtyard study area, a beautiful Art room and a state of the art language laboratory. At the Main School site, on Chatburn Road, all students are enjoying the new audio visual facilities and complete refurbishment of the main school hall.

International School Award
2009-2012
We were delighted to receive news at the end of August that Clitheroe Royal Grammar School has been awarded the International Schools award, which will be presented at a ceremony in London in October 2009. In order to achieve the award we had to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrated how our activities met the criteria required by the British Council. Many departments, pupils and staff were involved in the project, not only from Clitheroe Royal Grammar School but also from our partner schools across the globe.
